Chandra Bhandari (also known as Chandra Kant Bhandari) was born on April 14, 1961, in the village of Hunga-7 in the Gulmi district of Nepal. He is a Nepali politician and a central member of the Nepali Congress party.
Bhandari began his political career in 1976 as a student activist and went on to become the general secretary of the Nepal Students Union. He was involved in the 2006 revolution in Nepal that led to the establishment of a republic in the country.
In 2013, Bhandari contested and won the Constituent Assembly election from the Gulmi-2 constituency, defeating his rival Pradeep Gyawali. He has also contested and lost several other legislative elections, including the 1999 legislative election and the 2008 Constituent Assembly election.
Bhandari is known for his support of republicanism, which was a key issue during the 2006 revolution. He has a strong support base in his local constituency, and his academic background includes a Master’s Degree in Sociology and Management.
